Who this is for: anyone trying for a world-first level 60, or just to break away from the pack on launch day. THE GOAL About 20 to 25 MinMax Life members plan to push to 60 as fast as possible from launch day, racing for the Horde world first or at least a place among the first. Most of the guild will find a steady pace and aim for 60 or close to it by December 9, when raids are reported to open. The racers' route tests are written up here for everyone. THE TARGET: LEVEL 10 IN UNDER 2 HOURS Level 10 takes about 27,600 XP, so two hours means roughly 230 XP per active minute. Getting there comes down to five habits: 1. Follow the quest route and do not stop to grind as a full group. 2. Kill everything in your path. Never run past a mob you will need later. 3. Hold quest turn-ins until you reach the kill-to-level checkpoints for your zone, so the turn-in XP lands where it counts. 4. Skip the drop-luck and collection quests that sat open for 1.5 to 3 hours in our runs. 5. Level in pods of 4 to 5 through the crowded first zone, then split into a duo and a trio once mobs stop being contested. WHY PODS, THEN SPLIT In a crowd the bottleneck is tagging mobs, not killing them. Four or five people get more chances to tag each spawn, any tag counts for the whole group, and everyone gets quest kill credit from group kills. Our group of four finished Sharing the Land (23 kills) in about 8 minutes and everyone got the full 700 XP. Kill XP is split though: in a group of five each person gets roughly 28% of a kill's XP, so split up once mobs are no longer scarce. THE TIMELINE - Tuesday November 3, 7:30 PM PST (10:30 PM EST) is the planned launch-day group meeting in General Voice on our Discord (check the Discord for the final voted time). About 30 to 45 minutes, mic optional. - Launch day, November 4: the game launches at 3:00 PM PDT. The racers meet in General Voice about 1.5 hours before. - December 9: raids reported to open. THE GUIDES - Tauren: Mulgore 1-10 - Orc and Troll: Durotar 1-10 - Skyborne: Zephras Isle 1-10 - Undead: Tirisfal Glades 1-10 - Levels 10 to 30: Barrens, Thunder Bluff, Ragefire Chasm, Ruins of Lordaeron, Wailing Caverns, Camp Taurajo, Thousand Needles, Deadmines - Dungeon guides: Ragefire Chasm, Ruins of Lordaeron, City of Dalaran - Resources: addons, route videos Search 'World First Starting Strategy' in this library. OTHER PRINCIPLES - Group size caps at 5, so plan one gatherer per type (skinning, mining, herbalism) per leveling group. - Use AutoLayer to hop layers when a zone is crowded. - Jewelcrafting is not in WoW Forever. - Reserve your name before launch (October 27 to November 3). HOW WE KNOW Test runs by MinMax Life members in the WoW Forever beta, with AFK and chat time removed, cross-checked against RestedXP's Forever routes and public guides. XP figures marked 'observed' are quest turn-ins captured by our Atlas tracker. Items listed under 'to confirm' will be checked on launch day. Strategies change, so comment with what you find.
